Cakes for Blue Weddings Blue icing doesn’t always look particularly appetising, unless it is a very pale pastel blue, but there are many other ways that cake decorations can be made to fit in with blue weddings. The simplest option is to find a ribbon in the same colour as your bridesmaids’ dresses and wrap it around the tiers of a plain white wedding cake. You could also create a blue pattern using a cake stencil and an edible food colouring spray. Finally blue sugar flowers or butterflies look fantastic cascading down the tiers of a white wedding cake. A blue cake stand and blue cake cases can give a cup cake tower a blue theme even if the cakes themselves are white.
